CrabCryptodromia Family Dromiidae Order Decapoda This crab has the first two pairs of legs modified to carry objects on its back, usually sponges. The most common local species on rocky areas and reefs (width l cm) is the small Cryptodromia pileifera which carries a colony of brown tunicates on its back. All are scavengers. |
