Vestigial shell valves
bivalve despite its tubular shape. The two valves are greatly reduced and have been fused onto the walls of the calcareous tube which now surrounds the greatly enlarged soft siphons (breathing channels). The calcareous tubes are sometimes washed up on the shore. (Length up to 10cm).
