|Kingdom Animale | Phylum Mollusca | Class Bivalvia|
Belonging to a family popularly called jingle shells, this very unusual bivalve is found attached to mangrove leaves or high up on tree trunks by means of byssal threads. They can tolerate very long periods out of water, feeding only during the high water spring tides, when the water can reach them. (Length 2-4cm).
