ShellBatillaria zonalis Family Cerithidae These are common along sandy and slightly muddy shores, often aggregating in great numbers. They are mainly detrital feeders in shallow waters. They prefer sheltered waters and are absent from areas with strong waves and currents. Other members of this family are also extremely common on reefs and rocky areas. (Shell 2-6cm). |
