Lamp
Shell This is a small, very ancient and almost cosmopolitan (world-wide) family of bivalve-like animals. Although it has two shell valves, it is unlike the molluscs in that the valves are dorsal and ventral instead of being right and left. Its feeding structures are also very different. The Lamp shell, Lingula unguis is depicted. (Shell length 2-4cm). |
