From: N. Sivasothi South Zone Sites appear to be the following (see attached map):
My interpretation of Tim's email of Aug 2002 East bank - access through the
stadium. West bank - access by Kampong
Bugis; Buses should turn at the L-junction before the
carpark. West bank more dirty, especially the southern
half. ------ Forwarded Message Kallang can be divided into two sites: the east and west banks and can take 160 students (4 classes). Mind you, I've never done the actual coordination of students before so take my estimate with salt. The east bank can be accessed through the stadium. Suggest deploying 50 students there to clean up the main park and another 30 to clean up the short beach stretch next to Oasis (between Oasis and the Marine Police base). The west side is more dirty, especially the southern half. Access is by Kampong Bugis but buses should not go all the way into the carpark as there isn't enough space there to turn. They can turn at the L-junction before the carpark. 40 students should take the northern beach while another 40 should do the southern section across the bridge which include a small unmarked stretch in front of the Sea Sports Club (which has two big accretions of plastic rubbish. Map will follow later. TTYL! Tim |
